ACCIONA implements the technology platform INFORM to optimize handling operations in Chile. ACCIONA, through its Airport Services activity, has been chosen by the Ethiopian Cargo Airlines company to provide the ramp handling service (loading, unloading and handling of the aircraft) at the Santiago de Chile airport.
ACCIONA obtains the confidence of a new strategic client and revalidates its position in the airport sector of Chile, while reinforcing the growth of its freight service.
The growth experienced by the airport services business has allowed ACCIONA to bet on Chile as a strategic growth market for its handling business, starting from a leading position in the country's main airport.
In line with this commitment, ACCIONA has implemented the technology platform INFORM in its Chilean handling operations; a software that allows to manage in a more efficient way the resources and the operative information of the flights, improving the quality of the service offered to the client. In addition, it represents a significant improvement for workers, since it balances the workload. ACCIONA also uses this system in Spain and Germany.
ACCIONA began providing passenger handling services at the Santiago de Chile airport in December 2016 and, since then, it has been expanding its services to full handling (passenger services + ramp + operations) in most of the country's airports.
ACCIONA has more than 20 years of experience in handling services to third parties, with a client portfolio that exceeds 100 airlines. In addition to its activity in Santiago, Chile, the Company provides handling services at other airports such as Düsseldorf, Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. In line with its commitment to sustainability, at present, 40% of the fleet of luggage tractors used by ACCIONA to provide these services is electric.
