The meeting for representatives from Arab countries and around fifty business leaders from Extremadura, was held in Mérida
ACCIONA Service sponsored the Council of Arab Ambassadors Business Meeting held in the city of Mérida on 14 November. The event brought together the ambassadors for Palestine, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Sudan, Algeria, Mauritania, Yemen and the Arab League, business representatives from Iraq and Libya and ministers from Tunisia and Morocco, together with fifty business leaders from Extremadura from the sectors for fruit and vegetables, plant oils, meat production, packing and packaging, consultancy, distribution and engineering, among others.
The purpose of the event was to identify business opportunities, promote products and services, increase exports, and in general to increase the commercial business of companies in Extremadura in the important markets represented by these countries.
Following the official visit by the Arab ambassadors to this autonomous region, experts from various sectors will travel to Extremadura to personally visit the facilities of some of the region’s companies.
The event, which was also attended by Alejandro Jiménez, ACCIONA Service’s business development manager, also sought to demonstrate Extremadura’s potential for attracting highly profitable investment.
The Council of Arab Ambassadors consists of all of the Arab ambassadors accredited in Spain, who play an important role in promoting economic and cultural relations between Arab countries and Spain by making official visits to the country’s autonomous regions and through organised economic and cultural activities.
